The ranch is reserved for us from 11am on Saturday until 2pm on Tuesday. When you arrive a welcoming committee will check you in and introduce you to your accommodation. Meals and lodging provided for you!
By plane
Fly into Austin (1 hour away) or San Antonio (1.25 hours away). Once we know everyone's flight info we'll determine transportation to the ranch for those who need it. We have a few people shuttling guests from the airport(s) to the ranch on Saturday (and vice versa on Tuesday) and will work together to ensure everyone gets there!
By car
Drive directly to the ranch, arrive anytime after 11am on Saturday. The address will drop you at the service gate; use the guest entrance to the left instead with two flags and overhead Retreat Ranch sign. The gate code will be provided prior to arrival. Follow signs to the ten minute parking area to check-in and unload, then move to the main parking area.
The town of Marble Falls is 10 minutes away and has a grocery store, restaurants, Starbucks, etc. The town of Fredericksburg is 50 minutes away and is a charming German town with a fascinating history, quaint shops, and award winning wineries. This is where we are getting the sausages for the sausage fest!
BASIC SOLAR ECLIPSE VIEWING GLASSES WILL BE PROVIDED
In April, Marble Falls has an average high of 82°F and low of 58°F. Bring layers, comfy casual clothes, running / workout / horse wrangling attire, outdoor shoes, and consider the below:

Fun pajamas for the pajama party
Camp chair to watch the eclipse (some picnic blankets will be provided)
Flashlight or headlamp
Cowboy boots/hat for Texas Two Stepping
A musical instrument to play
Snacks for yourself (and to share if you'd like!) between meals. There is a central kitchen fully stocked with cooking supplies and serving dishes to store, cook, bake, and eat food.
Personal items and toiletries (towels-including pool towels, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and hair dryers provided)
Sunscreen, sun hat
Waterproof jacket in case of fleeting rain
Mosquito repellent (mosquito season normally begins in May but something to consider, especially if you're Maciej)
There will be beer and a limited bar. If you want to ensure your favorite drink or add to the party stop at a grocery or liquor store on your way to the ranch!
Please note: The ranch has free ranging animals and livestock dogs as well as natural wildlife so it is not safe for any outside pets to come on site.
The ranch has unique housing accommodations - vintage trailers, a container villa, a bunkhouse, yurts, and more. Your home away from home will be determined and communicated once the attendee list is finalized. All beds are temperpedic style with luxury bamboo sheets. Some bathrooms are shared or detached. Towels, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and hair dryers are provided. There is no daily housekeeping service but new sheets and extra towels can be provided, and there is a complimentary laundry facility on site.
The ranch provides coffee and tea in the 900sq ft dining hall which includes the central kitchen, dining area, and two full bathrooms. The central kitchen is fully stocked with cooking supplies and serving dishes to store, cook, bake, and eat food.
Be prepared to disconnect from the stresses of the world as there are no TVs on the property, their satellite internet is "just slow as molasses", and cell service is limited. This will be a perfect time to connect with nature, friends, and yourself!
Let us know if you can make it!
